New tax office for the Mancomunitat de la Ribera Alta in Alzira

The Mancomunitat de la Ribera Alta is opening a tax office in Alzira. The office is located at 32 Alquenència Street, in Alzira (València). This office will manage the urban solid waste collection tax for the 25 municipalities that have decided to pool their management: Alberic, Alcàntera de Xúquer, l’Alcúdia, Alfarb, Alginet, Alzira, Antella, Benifaió, Benimuslem, Carlet, Catadau, Cotes, Càrcer, l’Énova, Gavarda, Guadassuar, La Barraca d’Aigües Vives, Llombai, Manuel, Rafelguaraf, Sant Joanet, Sellent, Senyera, Sumacàrcer and Tous.

The president of the Mancomunitat de la Ribera Alta, Paqui Momparler Orta, and the mayor of Alzira, Alfons Domínguez, paid a visit to see the new facilities and learn about the procedures that will be carried out there.

From Monday 13 to Friday 17 January 2025, training sessions are being held for the entity’s public employees to receive specific training on the tax management of the urban solid waste collection fee.

During these sessions, the tax ordinance regulating this tax has been addressed, as well as the instructions and processes of the Tax Management Service, which include the configuration of rates, registrations, cancellations and modifications of tax files.

Another highlight was the presentation of the agreement with the Provincial Council of Valencia and the regulations for the joint service, as well as the introduction of the Virtual Tax Office portal to facilitate the management and consultation of files.

In the field of environmental education, emphasis was placed on the importance of raising public awareness about waste collection and sustainability. Practical cases and questions were also analysed, with examples from different municipalities.

Finally, the personnel management programme and its practical applications were presented, as well as improvements in citizen services, which seek to ensure more efficient and transparent management.

According to the president of the regional body, Paqui Momparler Orta, ‘these actions mark a step forward towards more sustainable and efficient management of tax and environmental services in the region’.

The notification of the new tax is expected to take place in the second half of 2025.
