This June, the Mancomunitat de la Ribera Alta received a visit from two twinned entities: the Cantón de Upala in Costa Rica and the Mancomunidad Trinacional Fronteriza Río Lempa, formed by municipalities in Guatemala, Honduras and El Salvador.
During their stay in Ribera Alta, the twinned entities visited different initiatives with a view to applying and adapting them in Central America. Among other places, they visited the IDEA centre in Alzira and discussed topics such as entrepreneurship and citizen participation.
At the same time, several meetings were held with Valencian institutions and organisations, such as the Fons Valencià per la Solidaritat and Escoles Solidàries. The twinned organisations also met with Mentxu Balaguer, Deputy for Cooperation, and José María Ángel, Regional Secretary for Security and Emergencies, with whom they discussed various aspects of emergency management.
