English GM James Plaskett wins the 23rd Mancomunitat de la Ribera Alta International Chess Open held in Guadassuar

On Sunday 14 November, the 23rd edition of the Mancomunitat de la Ribera Alta International Chess Open was held in Guadassuar, with a total of 80 players taking part in the event. This edition saw a return to in-person competition, as the previous edition in 2020 had to be played online, bringing together more than 300 players from 16 countries.

The venue was the Antic Col·legi Balmes, and 14 titled players took part, which gives an idea of the high level of the tournament. A total of 8 rounds were played, with a time control of 5 minutes + 3 seconds per player. At the end of the 8 rounds, the standings were as follows:

The awards ceremony was attended by the mayor of Guadassuar, Voro Montañana.
