On Saturday 16 December, the 25th Mancomunitat de la Ribera Alta Chess Open took place at the Benifaió Retirement Club. More than eighty players took part in this edition, representing a significant increase in participation compared to previous editions. The competition was played at a blitz pace of 5 minutes + 3 seconds, in an eight-round Swiss system.
The tournament champion was FIDE Master Rogvi Egilstoft (Faroe Islands) with 7 points from 8 games, followed by 0.5 points by four other titled players:
- FIDE Master José Manuel Diaz Velandial
- International Master Pablo Cruz Lledó
- FIDE Master Ramón Ibáñez Aullan
- FIDE Master José Torres Sánchez
The Mayor of Benifaió, Marta Ortiz, the Councillor for Sports, Bibiana Piles, and the President of the Mancomunitat de la Ribera Alta, Paqui Momparler, were present at the awards ceremony.
