Building Community Resilience and Sustainable Development through the Social Economy
The Mancomunitat de la Ribera Alta hosted the IV Transnational Social Mission of the Breed Project, a European project that seeks to build community resilience and sustainable development through the social economy. In this project, we have been able to address issues and projects related to social protection, housing, and health.
We welcomed visits from various local public entities, stakeholders and social economy organisations from Greece, Italy, Portugal, Belgium and Spain:

- Municipality of Katerini (MUKA)
- Municipality of Paredes
- Municipality of Alcamo
- European Network of Social Integration Enterprises (ENSIE)
- Mancomunitat de la Ribera Alta (MANRA)
Over the course of these days, we have given presentations, worked in teams, held debates, workshops and study visits to various locations: the headquarters of the Mancomunitat de la Ribera Alta, Algemesí and Valencia.
We have discussed issues such as the economy and social protection, housing with a social impact, and inclusion, and we have exchanged best practices from projects in the various participating countries. We have shared our culture and traditions and how they contribute to creating a more resilient and sustainable society. In addition, we have received information on the EU action plan and have worked on proposals for implementation at the local level.
We had the collaboration and participation of representatives from public and private entities and associations to raise awareness of their work in this field, such as: Fundación Novaterra, Servihabitat, Gestión Inteligente de Conflictos, EVAP, UGT, Museo de la Fiesta de Algemesí, Pacto Territorial para el Empleo, Oficina Comarcal de Vivienda and Siroco Ribera Alta.
The Mancomunitat de la Ribera Alta would like to thank all the collaborating organisations and everyone who has participated in this project. It has been a very enriching experience that has contributed to our society.
