The Environment Department of the Diputació de València held a Door-to-Door Conference on Thursday, 15 December, at the headquarters of the Mancomunitat de la Ribera Alta, with the main objective of discovering door-to-door collection and how to implement it. This conference will also be held in five other regions of Valencia, with the aim of bringing the door-to-door collection system to all administrations.
The conference addressed the following current topics of interest, such as the Reacciona strategy for the management of domestic and similar waste, the door-to-door collection system and the importance of good collection at source for waste management from the Consorci Ribera-Valldigna.
The Valencian Association of Municipalities for Door-to-Door Collection was also presented at the conference by its president, Txema Peláez, and Julio Garcia and José Forés, mayors of Alcàntera de Xúquer and Llombai. Next, the Environmental Education Service of the Mancomunitat de la Ribera Alta presented the activities it carries out in relation to the door-to-door system.
Finally, a round table discussion was held with the municipalities that have implemented door-to-door collection, followed by an open forum to answer questions and share experiences.
