The Secretary of State for Territorial Policy, Arcadi España, meets in Alzira with mayors from the region affected by the DANA to discuss the aid provided by the Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food in the agricultural sector
The Spanish Government, through the Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food, is providing €59.7 million in subsidies for the repair of agricultural roads, irrigation communities and farms in various municipalities in the Ribera Alta region, as part of the urgent measures provided for in Royal Decree-Law 7/2024 and Royal Decree-Law 1/2025.
The Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food is thus investing €13.4 million in agricultural roads, €20.5 million in irrigation communities and €25.8 million in farms.
This was outlined this morning by the Secretary of State for Territorial Policy, Arcadi España, at a working meeting held at the Mancomunitat de la Ribera Alta (Alzira) with mayors from the municipalities in the region affected by the DANA. ‘In a region where agriculture is a fundamental part of its culture and economy, this major boost from the Spanish Government is necessary, now that the citrus season is beginning,’ said España.
The meeting was also attended by the Commissioner for Reconstruction after the DANA, Zulima Pérez; the president of the State Agricultural Infrastructure Company (SEIASA), Francisco Rodríguez Mulero; and the president of the Ribera Alta Association, Paqui Momparler.
