Erika, Myriam and Isabel claimed the women’s raspall title with a 25-05 victory, whilst Vercher and Seve won the men’s final
The 2026 Trofeu Mancomunitat de la Ribera Alta concluded this Sunday with the men’s and women’s raspall finals at the Guadassuar trinquet. Erika, Myriam and Isabel defeated Vanessa, Natalia and Marina 25-05 in the first match, whilst Vercher and Seve claimed the title after beating Ian, Murcianet and Momparler 25-10.
In the women’s raspall final, the red trio started from the dado, causing Erika plenty of problems. The blue team couldn’t cope and lost a very solid opening game to the champions. Vanessa gained a bit more confidence from the serve to level the match, but that was the only point she managed to win despite trying in every game. Natalia tried to close down all the spaces, but Myriam and Isabel always found a way to score the fifteen-pointers. The reds were winning games, albeit with some difficulty. Erika was still recovering from a long-term injury and was getting back into the swing of things on the court. The two players from l’Alqueria d’Asnar, alongside Isabel, deservedly took the title with a convincing scoreline.
The second game began with a trio on the dice. Ian took the weight of the team on his shoulders, allowing both Murcianet and Momparler to easily finish off the fifteen-point rally and take the first game. Vercher was not to be outdone, using his power to level a game in which Seve was still not fully involved. Two games later, with the score at 10-10, Seve began to dominate ruthlessly to break away from the rest. The reds had done the hard work and, from the dado, consolidated their lead with two games (20-10). The trio couldn’t find their rhythm against a less incisive Momparler, who, as the lead player, couldn’t get much into the game. Vercher and Seve consistently managed to outplay the opposition’s lead and middle players. Murcianet also tried to counter, but the match ultimately went to the pair (25-10).
Third place in the Ribera Alta Mancomunitat Trophy for women’s raspall went to Maria, Júlia and Anabel, who beat Clara, Mireia and Laura 25-10 on Saturday at the Castelló trinquet. Iván and Canari had a tougher time securing the bronze, managing to beat Terrades II, Lorja and Marc Ortega (25-20) in the final match, also on Saturday.
This 2026 edition, marking the institution’s 30th anniversary, concluded with the trophy presentation, which was conducted by the president of the Mancomunitat de la Ribera Alta, Paqui Momparler; the vice-president of the Valencian Pilota Federation, Susana Martínez; and the mayor of Guadassuar, Vicente Estruch.
