■ A 360-degree virtual tour of the interior of the Cullera Museum of History and Archaeology has also been presented.
The Mancomunitat de la Ribera Alta and the Cullera Town Council present the exhibition ‘Torres de la Ribera en 3D’ (Towers of the Ribera in 3D), which will be on display until 9 October in the White Tower of Castell de Cullera.
The exhibition shows the digitisation of eight towers of the Ribera in 3D, carried out by the Mancomunitat de la Ribera Alta and Turisme Comunitat Valenciana. The associations of the Ribera Baixa and Ribera Alta, through the Consorci de la Ribera, share the joint tourism promotion area of the Ribera de Xúquer brand.
The exhibition of the 3D digitisation of the Towers of La Ribera is the printed result of three-dimensional models obtained from thousands of aerial and terrestrial photographs. The exhibition has previously been shown in several municipalities: Algemesí, Alzira, Benifaió, Montroi, Alfarb, Antella and now Cullera, the first municipality in La Ribera Baixa to host it.
Jordi Mayor, Mayor of Cullera, thanked the Mancomunitat de la Ribera Alta for lending the exhibition to be displayed in Cullera Castle and invited all citizens to visit it. The event was also attended by Silvia Roca, 1st Deputy Mayor and Councillor for Culture, Education, Historical Heritage and Museums of Cullera.
The president of the Mancomunitat de la Ribera Alta, Paqui Momparler, took advantage of the presentation to announce a new project: “The Mancomunitat de la Ribera has also created a virtual tour of Cullera Castle. With the help of Riberana, our digitalisation department, we have created a tour with 12 360-degree panoramic views of the exterior of the castle and the interior of the Cullera Archaeology and History Museum. I am sure that this is the first of many joint projects with the Cullera Town Council”.
The project has been carried out thanks to co-financing from Turisme Comunitat Valenciana and the Mancomunitat de la Ribera Alta. It consists of 3D prints of the Castell de Alfarb, Torre d’Alèdua (Llombai), Torre de la Plaça and Torre Mussa in Benifaió, Torre Racef in Almussafes, Torre d’Antella and Castell de Montroi, dating from the 9th to 11th centuries, and the Torre dels Coloms, dating from the 15th century, in the monastery of Murta, Alzira. The exhibition features information panels with details and QR codes to access multimedia content on the Mancomunitat’s heritage website, Riberana.
The exhibition will be open during the usual opening hours of Castell de Cullera until 9 October.
